Today, Monday the 5th, we left St. Davids at 7:30 and headed out on a very narrow road to a port where we could catch a small boat to take us to the island of Skomer. Our primarly reason for going to the island was to see the Puffins. The boat dropped us off around 10:00 and picked us up at 3:00. It was a beautiful day except for the gale force winds. We walked 13754 steps around the island. That is uphill, and downhill and all on narrow paths so as not to disturb the animals' habitat. There were times when the wind could have literly picked one up. It was something else but the day was enjoyable dispite the wind!
A cute little puffin!
Spectacular scenery!
Miles of Bluebells also called "Welcome to Summer" or "Boots of the Cockoo" in Welsh. those of course are English translations.
As the afternoon came to an end we went to the docking area, sat around and froze! This is me totally exhausted!
Tomorrow we head to Llangloffan. Lots to do and see but we all agree no reason to get up at the crack of dawn.
I love puffins and perhaps you will remember that we have a big painting of some1
